Welcome to the official website of the UCBA. We are a website started by a couple of guys/girls wanting a small town broomball league. We play a summer outdoor addition of broomball, not on ice but on an outdoor roller blading rink. The way our league works is if a youth group from a church would like to join us they must put together a team with their youth group. We have an age limit of 11-18. Your youth group leader acts as coach. If you are part of a youth group at your church and would like to join our league you just need to do a few simple things!
First: Get Equipment!
You need a broomball stick for each player, Hockey/Lacrosse style gloves and helmets (we do not body check but simple stick checks do happen in game). You need a goalie with Knee pads a helmet and gloves (a blocker and trapper are permitted but not required). You may wear other padding if you feel uncomfortable playing with out it, but it is not required. Broomball equipment can be found online at broomball.com.
Second: Team/Team Name
You need to put together a team with a minimum amount of 10 people. In game you must have a Midfielder (the player who does the face offs), 2 Defense-men and 2 attackers. In our edition of the game we start with a face off. The attackers and defense-men must stay behind blue line, no one can join in to fight for the ball. Once a midfielder wins the official calls out "Posession," at this time the defense-men and attackers can cross the blue line and move freely throughout the game.
The rest of our rule book is on the rules page. Moving-on, you are going to need a coach. Usually we use our youth group leaders but if you would like to use someone other than your leader that is completely fine. Also you need to set up a roster with a team name. If you can get someone to officiate our games for us it would be a huge help!

$15 a team. We are a brand new league and need the money to pay for balls and a clock and other things for the game. If this fee needs to be lowered for some reason please tell us. And last of all you need a jersey of some sort. It must include a team name/logo on the front and back. Numbers are not required but you may have numbers if you want. We all hope you can join us, for a new member means a bigger league and more fun for everyone!
